Frequently Asked Questions
The Work
Are these original works or prints?
Every piece is a one-of-a-kind original — drawn directly on paper by a custom-built machine using real ink. Nothing is printed, reproduced, or editioned. Once a work sells, that exact work is gone forever.
What does "algorithmic art" mean? Each work begins as an algorithm — a set of rules and parameters written and designed by the artist. The machine executes those rules line by line, but every decision of form, color, and composition is entirely human. The algorithm is the tool; the artist is the author.
What materials are used? All works are drawn with professional-grade pens and lightfast inks on acid-free paper — typically Royal Talens Van Gogh 300gsm or equivalent. Specific materials for each piece are listed on its product page.
How do I care for the artwork?Once framed, keep the work away from direct light. The inks are designed to be lightfast and the paper is acid-free, but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will affect any work on paper over time. UV-protective glass is recommended.
Ordering & Custom Works
Can I commission a custom work?
Yes. Send a reference — an image, a color palette, a concept, or a description — and up to 3 digital sketches will be prepared for your review. Once a direction is confirmed, a 50% deposit is required to begin the work. When the piece is finished, photos are sent for your approval before the remaining 50% is charged and the work is shipped.
Can I request a specific size?Custom sizes are available as part of the commission process. Standard sizes are listed in the shop.
Do the works come framed?Works are sold unframed. They are shipped flat in a custom-designed archival box, ready to be framed to your preference.

Shipping
How are works shipped?
Every work ships in a custom-designed archival box, built to protect the piece during international transit. Shipping is free worldwide — no additional charges at checkout.
How long does delivery take?USA: approximately 5 business days. Europe: 7–10 business days. Rest of the world: delivery times vary by destination — contact us before purchasing if you need an estimate for your country.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties? All works are shipped internationally as "other printed materials." In most cases, pieces arrive without additional charges. However, customs policies vary by country and are beyond our control — buyers are responsible for any import duties or taxes that may apply in their destination country. If you are unsure about your country's import regulations, we recommend checking with your local customs office before purchasing.
Certificate of Authenticity & Returns
What is the Certificate of Authenticity?
Every work is accompanied by a signed and embossed Certificate of Authenticity confirming the piece is an original work by Pablo Vargas (Pavlovpulus), the title, materials, and year of creation. The certificate is part of the work's permanent record.
Do you accept returns? All sales are final. Original works on paper are fragile and do not travel well once handled by third parties — returns consistently result in damage to the piece. For this reason, we do not accept returns. If your work arrives damaged due to a shipping incident, please contact us immediately with photographs and we will work to find a resolution.
